He completed MBBS from Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC), New Delhi in 1980, MD - Medicine from Lady Hardinge Medical College and associated Ram Manohar Lohia, Hospital New Delhi in 1985 and DM-Gastroenterology from G B Pant Hospital.
He is a member of Indian Society of Gastroenterology, Indian Association for the study of the liver, Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy of India, and Diabetic Association of India. He has published many papers in national and international journal.
